Locks

Whilst we hope you will not need them, we do keep locks in stock in case of failure etc. We use a range of locks on our cabinets and furniture, below we cover the specification for them all.

Cylinders

We use one type of cylinder across most of our cabinets. Meeting the requirements for Controlled Drugs cabinets and surpassing the requirements for BS2881, this Yale supplied cylinder is robust and reliable.

  • 6 Pin Euro-profile cylinder euro profile cylinder lock incorporating Anti-pick, anti-drill, anti-bump and fire resistant features.
  • Independently tested to meet BS: EN1303:2005
  • Kitemark – KM532920
  • üTS007 1 Star Cylinder
  • Key security grade 5
  • Torque resistance of plug/cylinder relevant to attack resistance – 30 Nm
  • Meets the MLA vulnerability test for cylinders

 

Mortice Bolts

Again, we use one type of mortice across most of our cabinets. Meeting the requirements for Controlled Drugs cabinets and the requirements for BS2881, this ERA supplied mortice is a robust and reliable unit.

  • Key Retention – Key cannot be removed when the cabinet door is open (except trolleys).
  • Hardened steel mortise bolt with anti-saw facility incorporated in cabinet design.
  • 14mm Deadbolt throw.

We combine both of the above parts together to form a lock. Should a single part fail, you do not need to replace both components. The euro profile lock we use is also future froof and compatible with many electronic locking solutions, such as Abloy CLIQ Remote.

ASSA CLIQ Remote

ASSA CLIQ® Remote offers a simple way to upgrade mechanical locking systems, so you can have all the benefits of access control at your fingertips.

The award-winning system allows keys to be programmed and updated individually. As such, key holders only have access to the areas relevant to them, and permissions can be scheduled for specific times and days. Should a professional move on or need their access rights changed, these can be immediately revoked and updated. The system also provides a full audit trail of who has accessed an area and when.

ASSA CLIQ® Remote can be easily extended should it need to cover additional areas, offering a futureproof solution as your operations grow. This means it’s ideally suited to estates such as universities, healthcare sites, and large commercial sites.

Here you can see our ADC100 Ambulance Controlled Drugs Cabinet, in North West Ambulance specification fitted with a Cliq compatible cylinder. Cliq is an electronic locking system that is compliant with the Misuse of Drugs (safe custody) regulations compliant. It is now widely used within medical environments and we have supplied them to Welsh Ambulance as well as North West Ambulance to name a few. In both cases Cliq has been a valuable time saving device that has improved traceability and security.

CAM Locks

Cam locks are used predominantly on our CoSHH Cabinets and POD Lockers. As standard they are 90 degree turn, key retained. Furthermore they are as standard keyed to differ with a master key facticity. That means that every lock has a different key, but a key can be ordered to open them all. Suited and keyed alike locks can be ordered on request. 

  • Keyed to differ as standard with master key facility (master key not supplied)

  • Key retained (key can not be removed when the door is open)
  • Keyed alike and suited locks available

Push Button Key Code Locks

KitLock Locker Lock

This electronic push button cam lock is used on our range of POD lockers, CoSHH Cabinets and trolleys when optioned. This lock will be used unless the Abloy version requested.

It features:

  • 11 button keypad
  • 8 digit Master and Sub-Master Code
  • 4 digit User Code
  • 6 digit Technician Code
  • Up to 15,000 operations from 2 x AAA batteries (supplied)
  • Battery override

We use the vertical and right hand versions depending on application.

Assa Abloy Digital PIN Keypad Cam Lock

More recently we have started to use the Abloy ML51PA Digital PIN Keypad Cam Lock. A more robust feeling lock with a more reliable and readily available supply, this slightly more expensive unit offers:

  • Battery status LED
  • Lock status LED
  • Standard Alkaline batteries, 3 x AAA
  • Micro USB power back up
  • 4 – 12 digit Master PIN
  • 4 – 12 digit User PIN
  • Private code or Public Change Code mode (similar to hotel safe)
  • Sound Mode – On or Off
  • Temporary wrong code lockout

The Abloy Lock can also be specified as an RFID Card Cam Lock, shown right in the image right. Please get in touch to discuss this option. This lock features:

  • Battery status LED
  • Lock status LED
  • Standard Alkaline batteries, 3 x AAA
  • Micro USB power back up
  • Suits doors up to 23mm thick
  • Supported RF type: 13.56MHz ISO14443A MIFARE Classic, Ultralight, DESFireEV1
  • Accepts up to 20 Administration Cards, 20 Master Cards and 20 User Cards per lock

Mechanical Push Button Locks

CL100 Surface Deadbolt

We use this lock, when optioned, on our Medicine / Drugs Cabinets, base units and Controlled Drugs Cabinets. Please note when specified on a CD cabinet, the cabinet will be none compliant. This lock is more substantial than the electronic versions and throws a deadbolt rather than a cam.
